catharine

My friend Catharine died today, just after her 45th birthday. I will miss her. She is so smart, kind and giving. She did a lot for CF, was very involved in writing, raising money, and just encouraging people when the needed it. She and her husband only got to live in their own apartment 2 weeks. Her parents must be devastated. I am devastated.

I am so sorry to hear about your friend Catharine. She sounded like a wonderful person who will be missed by many people who's lives she touched. We never know what is going to happen from day to day and it sounded as if she made the most of the time she had. When I was reading your blogs, I hadn't even had a chance to say a prayer for her when I found out she was gone, so I will say one for her friends and family to find some comfort in the special times they shared with her. Take care of yourself, and remember the good times you two shared and know she is looking down on you with love.

Carol,
It is never easy to see our CF friends be sicker than us and know that this could be our nightmare in the end too. I have seen some of my CF friends get worse over the years but some have also bounced back. All you can do is Keep the faith! Keep your chin up and take steps forward to fight this horrible disease!
Love, Bonnie

Dear Carol,
We are so very sorry to learn the heartwrenching news of your friend, Catharine's passing, which came much, much too soon. Our hearts are with you, as well as her other friends, family and loved ones. As you struggle through your sadness, we pray that her spirit and memory will inspire continued committment to this mystery that we call life.

I know Catharine meant more to you than just a friend. I'm reminded of the poem Kim sent about the friend who passed away and the "dash" between the birth date and death date and how important it is to spend your "dash" time well. From reading your blog, it appears Catharine spent her "dash" time very well. Sincere Sympathy, always
